Job Title: Sous Chef Location: Kildare Salary: €42,000 Introduction An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Sous Chef to join a busy and well-established kitchen in Kildare. This role is ideal for a motivated chef with strong experience in high-quality dining who wants to take the next step in their career, supporting the Head Chef in delivering an exceptional food offering.

The successful candidate will have a passion for creating innovative and seasonal dishes that showcase the best of local produce. They will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen, including menu planning, stock management, and supervising junior chefs.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Chef in the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen.
  • Assist with menu planning and seasonal dish development.
  • Supervise and train junior chefs, ensuring consistent standards across all sections.
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to the highest level.
  • Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships.
  • Maintain excellent standards of hygiene, health and safety, and HACCP compliance.
  • Ensure service is efficient, professional, and aligned with the venues high reputation.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a quality kitchen.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to manage a team under pressure.
  • Creative flair with a passion for seasonal, fresh produce.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the wider team.
  • Knowledge of HACCP and strong understanding of kitchen safety procedures.
