Job Description

The position of Occupational Therapist involves providing high-quality person-centred care to service users with complex mental health needs. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, and reviewing treatment/intervention programmes in both face-to-face and virtual settings.

  • Assess and plan individualised treatment programs for adults/older adults with mental health difficulties.
  • Facilitate group interventions as appropriate, including occupation-based and psycho-educational groups.
  • Manage a caseload in accordance with the needs of the post and collaborate with service users, family/carers, and other staff in treatment/intervention planning.
  • Document all assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, reports, and discharge summaries in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Communicate verbally and/or in writing results of assessments, treatment/intervention programmes, and recommendations to the team and relevant others.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

  • Registration with CORU or registration pending with proof.
  • An Occupational Therapy qualification recognised by WFOT.
  • Experience working with service users with psychiatric illnesses in various stages of recovery.
  • Experience working in an inpatient mental health setting and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Teams and Outlook.
