Job Role Overview

The Social Care Worker position at Stewarts Care involves delivering high-quality care and support to day attenders, adhering to New Directions standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and governance of assigned day services
  • Manage daily planning and activities of assigned day services
  • Lead teams within assigned day services
  • Supervise staff and oversee training and performance
  • Maintain relationships with service users based on equality and respect
  • Report to Service Managers on regular basis
  • Evaluate the needs of service users and ensure they are met

Communication and Reporting

  • Maintain effective communication with families and involved parties
  • Develop and maintain communication with colleagues regarding service users
  • Implement operational plans as determined by Care Management

Requirements and Qualifications

  • CORU approved Level 7 Degree in Social Care or registration with CORU
  • Demonstrate commitment to Stewarts Care values
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience working with people with complex needs
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • High initiative and integrity
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and New Directions standards
  • Able to implement legislation and standards effectively
  • Genuine interest in supporting rights and needs of people with intellectual disability
  • Able to produce clear and concise reports
  • Flexibility to develop new approaches as needed
