Our client is seeking an experienced Design Coordinator to oversee the coordination of external designers, consultants, and subcontractors. This role involves managing design data through BIM platforms, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery of design information across major projects.

The position offers the opportunity to influence design outcomes, resolve technical challenges, and contribute to continuous improvement in project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  2. Coordinate external designers, consultants, and subcontractors to deliver compliant design information on time
  3. Manage design processes from tender to construction stage
  4. Oversee design data using BIM tools and ensure accuracy across the project team
  5. Review design submissions, track queries, and resolve technical challenges
  6. Chair and document design coordination meetings, ensuring actions are completed
  7. Liaise between design, project, and site teams to support buildability reviews
  8. Maintain accurate records of design decisions and approvals
  9. Support value engineering exercises to meet cost, programme, and quality objectives
  10. Contribute to lessons learned and best practice sharing across the organisation
Requirements
  • ">
  • 3+ years' experience in design coordination or design management (main contractor experience preferred)
  • Level 8+ qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of BIM tools, digital design coordination, and document control systems
  • Good understanding of construction processes, building regulations, and design principles
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and BIM platforms
  • Full, clean driver's licence
