This exciting role is perfect for individuals with a passion for delivering exceptional service and ensuring seamless event execution.

You will be responsible for managing event details, conducting site inspections, creating profiles, and developing relationships with clients. You will work closely with the Sales Manager to build new corporate accounts and create Key Account Managers.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Event Management: Ensure all menus, rooming lists, and event information are entered into the system at least 14 days prior to an event.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections of the resort to ensure everything meets our high standards.
  • Contact Management: Create profiles for new contacts and companies in Opera, and update existing profiles as needed.
  • Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients to ensure their needs are met.
  • Sales Support: Work with the Sales Manager to build new corporate accounts and create Key Account Managers.
  • Reporting: Ensure weekly function sheets and forecasting reports are issued to the resort every Wednesday afternoon.
  • Meetings: Host weekly Resort Pre-Con meetings to discuss upcoming events and ensure everyone is on track.
  • Communication: Communicate site inspection results to Resort Operations in a timely manner.
  • Reporting: Send out daily and accurate enquiry, business won, and business lost reports for all reservations.
  • Follow-up: Update enquiry, business won, and business lost reports daily and chase business leads.
  • Catering: Liaise with the Executive Chef regarding seasonal menu requirements and saving to the Sales Drive.
  • Wine List: Liaise with Sommeliers regarding updates on the wine list and updating Opera.
  • Catering Calendar: Compile a catering calendar of events.
  • Loss Reporting: Produce weekly reports to account for lost and regretted business, including feedback on reasons.
  • Lead Transfer: Ensure effective transfer of potential sales leads to relevant salespersons.

Qualifications

  • Hospitality Experience: Experience in a sales role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a luxury or 5-star hotel.
  • Success Record: Proven track record of successfully converting leads into confirmed bookings.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
