Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Credit Control professional to join our team in a pivotal finance role. As a key member of the credit control function, you will play a crucial role in supporting the management of customer credit and debt recovery across multiple markets.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with managing the company's credit control function across multiple European offices
  • Monitoring and enforcing customer compliance with credit limits and payment terms
  • Recommending and arranging payment plans or legal action for high-risk debtors
  • Reporting on the debtor ledger status to the management
  • Driving improvements in debtor ageing and monthly cash collections
  • Reducing bad debt exposure and identifying risks early
  • Supporting the development and implementation of improved systems and processes
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers to resolve payment issues efficiently

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3-5 years' experience in credit control, finance, or a related field
  • A strong understanding of credit risk management and debt collection
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • A strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel); experience with Dynamics, Sage, or similar systems
  • Desirable supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Background in the freight, logistics, or transport industry
  • Experience with cross-border credit management and foreign currency transactions
