We are seeking a medical professional to fill the role of Consultant General Physician in Nenagh, Ireland.

The position involves working in a Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) from 8am-8pm, alongside one other physician. This includes participating in the Medicine on call rota, managing the MAU, covering wards, and receiving referrals from University Hospital Limerick (UHL) on weekends and bank holidays.

The MAU has close linkages with UHL and other hospitals in the group, aligned to the National Acute Medical Programme. Patients attending the MAU are typically discharged, while those requiring higher levels of care are transferred to UHL.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to manage the MAU and cover wards.
  • Participate in the Medicine on call rota, including receiving referrals from UHL.
  • Contribute to ensuring seamless patient care and efficient hospital operations.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Applicants must hold registration as a specialist in the relevant specialty with the Medical Council in Ireland.
