Part-Time Healthcare Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our caregiving team as a Part-Time Healthcare Assistant in a community-based setting.

This is a permanent position with flexible working hours, offering up to 20 hours of work per week. Weekend availability is required, and flexitime is available for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and assistance to clients as per their care plan, including personal care, toileting, meal preparation, moving and transferring, and supervising medication.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year's experience within the healthcare industry, with a valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for work-related purposes.

A FETAC/QQI Level 5 Award or equivalent qualification in Care Skills and Care of the Older Person modules is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to established working practices, methods, procedures, and care plans to provide seamless short-notice care to clients.
  • Maintain a client-centric approach that prioritises and safeguards their well-being and interests.
  • Deliver high quality care and assistance to clients as per their care plan.
  • Regularly report to your Line Manager on any significant changes in a client's physical, behavioural, or social condition.
  • Undertake a range of Personal and Practical Care Duties with utmost professionalism and empathy.
