Job Title: Senior Environmental Specialist Job Description:Fehily Timoney and Company is one of Ireland's largest indigenous consultancies specialising in sustainable infrastructure, circular economy, environment, energy, and renewables.The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the continued growth of our environmental services, working collaboratively with a team of experienced professionals.This role offers diverse projects exposure across a wide range of environmental sectors, including planning and EIAR, waste management, infrastructure development, waste licensing and permitting, industrial emissions licensing, and environmental due diligence.Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading and managing project teams, reporting directly to a Director
  • Overseeing the project management and delivery of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEAs), Appropriate Assessments (AAs), planning application documentation, and other environmental reports
  • Providing expert technical guidance on environmental matters across the business
  • Actively contributing to business development efforts and supporting growth initiatives
  • Managing the execution and compliance of regulatory approvals throughout project lifecycles
Required Qualifications:
  • Degree-qualified in a relevant environmental discipline
  • 12-15 years of post-graduate experience in an environmental role
  • Chartered status in relevant professional discipline
  • Strong understanding of planning, environmental, and waste management legislation
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and in the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports, planning applications, and licence/permit applications across a broad range of projects

  • Flexible, collaborative, and an effective team member
  • Strong technical writing and report reviewing skills
  • Experienced in liaising with external stakeholders, regulatory authorities, and sub-contractors
