Child Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to provide quality, evidence-based and family-centred supports for children with complex needs associated with disability.

The successful candidate will work as a key member of the team, supporting children and their families in line with best practice guidelines.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage and prioritise caseloads to ensure optimal service delivery.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children with a disability where required.
  • Determine the most appropriate methods of practice to enhance the quality of life of individuals with a disability.
  • Inform individuals with a disability and their families of their rights, entitlements, benefits and services.
  • Act as an advocate for children with a disability where appropriate.
  • Liaise with relevant agencies in relation to the provision of personal and social services.
Essential Requirements:
  • Possess a relevant qualification in child support or a related field.
  • Be registered with and maintain registration on a relevant professional register.
  • Demonstrate organisational and planning skills with effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience of working with children and families.
  • Experience of working in disability services.
