Business Analyst - Investment Technology

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Business Analyst to contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of critical Global Investment business systems.

The successful candidate will work closely with business users and IT managers to understand, challenge and develop requirements and applied solutions using analytical skills.

The role requires experience with Investment systems to translate business and functional requirements into technical specifications, create system documentation, and guide operational improvements.

The ability to communicate complex ideas using non-technical language is also essential.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify and document solutions via business and systems requirements.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather and document project goals, workflows, complex business needs, gaps, and opportunities.
  • Drive innovative thinking to solve difficult problems through proposing insightful, knowledgeable, effective solutions.
  • Work with third-party software vendors and/or internal Systems Development teams to ensure business requirements are met.
  • Understand product architecture and functionality to assess feature feasibility and take ownership of defined product functionalities.
  • Estimate value, develop use cases, prioritize stories and epics to align work with product strategy.
  • Assist with testing application enhancements, including writing test plans and acting as a business proxy.
  • Document exceptions, configurations and work-arounds as necessary.
  • Participate in deployment and implementation of new and existing products/applications.
  • Investigate, triage, diagnose and resolve complex application issues.
Qualifications
  • A relevant bachelor's degree, preferably in mathematics, finance or computer science.
  • 3+ years of technology experience in an IT Business Analyst role working with Investment systems.
  • Experience dealing with financial market-related data sets and asset classes is required.
  • Strong familiarity with Eagle Pace is preferred.
  • Proficiency in writing SQL Queries is essential.
  • Knowledge of Data management best practices is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business concepts applicable to a multi-faceted financial services organization is desired.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written.
  • Ability to diagram workflows to effectively communicate complex dataflows and system integrations.
