Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced leader to oversee the operation of various business departments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, developing operational policies and procedures, and managing project teams throughout Ireland and internationally.

The Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in the Operations team, supporting the Director and wider business on a day-to-day basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple project teams to ensure contracts are completed on programme and within budget.
  • Manage compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • Conduct effective health and safety assessments and report incidents as needed.
  • Support project management and control of contract costs and variations.
  • Assist in developing commercial operations and resource planning.
  • Manage quality of work of subcontractors and assess their ability to maintain scope programme.
  • Cost management: develop and manage project budgets and track costs.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers.
  • Ensure security systems and procedures comply with local laws and industry standards.
  • Prepare for internal and external audits.
  • Conduct final inspections to ensure all systems are fully operational.
  • Oversight of project documentation, including as-built drawings and system configurations.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned.
  • Management of programme risk and experience of early interaction.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Management team, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Proactive involvement in pre-sales and pre-bid process.
  • Planning/scheduling of works.
  • Representation at Senior Leadership team meetings.
  • Collaboration with HR and contribution to the ongoing success of the business.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • IT fluency and familiarity with MS packages and MS Project.
  • Third-level qualification in a construction-related field, coupled with at least 15 years' post-graduate experience or 5-10 years in a Project Management role.
  • Proven record of delivering large-scale commercial, industrial, or pharmaceutical projects.
  • Data centre experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Able to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial awareness with an electrical background is highly desirable.
