Insurance Actuary Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced insurance actuary to join our European Actuarial Reporting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing technical reserves, developing actuarial models and processes, and communicating results to senior management.

Job Responsibilities
  • Analyzing technical reserves on multiple valuation bases for a wide range of business lines and geographies;
  • Developing, maintaining, and enhancing actuarial models and processes used for reserving, technical provisions, and Standard Formula capital calculations;
  • Producing and developing key indicators monitoring the technical reserves;
  • Reviewing and challenging reserving analyses undertaken by actuarial teammates;
  • Communicating reserving methods, assumptions, uncertainties, movements and trends to Senior Management;
  • Assist in capital planning and the production of the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment report, including sensitivity, stress, and scenario testing;
  • Providing key input to the component Actuarial Function Reports;
  • Contributing to Actuarial Reporting governance through documentation of processes and methodologies;
  • Developing and maintaining data quality;
  • Collaborating with Claims, Pricing, Underwriting, and Operations functions to enhance actuarial analyses and providing valuable feedback to each function;
  • Assisting with assurance and audit activities, both internally (with Risk and Internal Audit functions) and externally (with financial auditors and country regulators);
  • Continually improving the efficiency, accuracy, and transparency of existing processes;
  • Researching, proposing, and implementing new techniques.
Requirements
  • A fully qualified actuary;
  • At least five years' experience in a General Insurance role;
  • Good working knowledge of Solvency II;
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language;
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel;
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently;
  • Strong desire to learn from and share knowledge with teammates.
