Job Title: Motorway Operations Control Centre Manager

This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Motorway Operations Control Centre, ensuring high performance and operational continuity.

  • Manage motorway and tunnel management system applications to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor and maintain effective communication with stakeholders and the public.
  • Liaise with departments to develop and implement systems through capital expenditure projects.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Coordinate tunnel and motorway operations seamlessly using a 'One Control Room' approach.
  • Guide critical decisions and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Develop and train on special event response plans.
  • Report on measures of effectiveness for MOCC operations, including KPIs related to transportation management and incident response.
  • Prepare performance reports for MOCC operations.
  • Act environmentally responsibly within the scope of the service.
  • Support the implementation of new systems in collaboration with partners.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Level 8 qualification recognized by the National Framework of Qualifications Ireland or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • At least 5 years of control room management experience, including 2 years in tunnel control room management.
  • Strong experience with SCADA, ITS, or traffic monitoring and communication systems.
  • Understanding of client relationships and reporting, including stakeholder liaison.
  • Experience in employee mentoring and development.
  • Proven leadership and incident response skills in high-pressure environments.
  • Change management experience for improving operating efficiencies.
  • High numeracy and analytical skills.
