Primary Care Counsellor Position

Seeking a skilled Counsellor Therapist to provide short-term counselling in primary care settings. This role involves delivering trauma-informed counselling contracts to adult survivors of childhood trauma under the governance of the HSE National Counselling Service.
Job OverviewAs a Counsellor, you will work with medical card holders aged 18 years and over, providing empathetic support and guidance. A key aspect of this role is working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- A recognised Level 7 qualification in a human science discipline or equivalent is required. This includes qualifications in counselling, psychotherapy, or psychology from accredited institutions such as IACP, ICP, or PSI.
- To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Either 2a: A degree or post-graduate qualification in counselling, psychotherapy, or clinical psychology from an accredited institution.
- Or 2b: Full accreditation membership with IACP or ICP, or registration with PSI's clinical or counselling psychology division.
- Additionally, a minimum of two years' relevant post-qualification experience is required, ensuring you possess the necessary skills and expertise to excel in this position.
