Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Support Professional to join our team in Dublin. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing support to adopted children, teenagers, and their parents across Ireland.

Your primary focus will be on assessing the needs of children and families engaging with the project. You will plan, implement, and review programmes for adopted children and families based on individual and group needs.

You will work with children, young people, carers, and families in various ways, including group work, individual work, and family work. Effective liaison with families and other statutory, community, and voluntary bodies is essential.

You will identify and document unmet needs of children, young people, carers, and families within the service. Your expertise in trauma-informed approaches will be invaluable in this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum two years' post-qualification experience working with children and families
  • Experience in working with children affected by early loss or trauma
  • Group work experience with children and adults
  • Planning, implementing, and reviewing programmes with children and families
  • Desirable: experience working with adopted children, teenagers, and their parents

You will hold a recognised third-level practice qualification (minimum Level 7 QQI) in psychology, counselling, or psychotherapy, or a related discipline such as art therapy, drama therapy, or play therapy. Additional training in trauma and attachment-based approaches is desirable.
