Job Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our commercial management team, focusing on large-scale residential and commercial projects.

  • Main Responsibilities:
    • To oversee the full commercial aspect of large-scale residential and commercial projects from inception to completion.
    • Develop comprehensive cost plans, budgets, and forecasts for each project, implementing robust cost control measures to ensure timely delivery within budget.
    • Administer complex contracts, including procurement, tendering, and the diligent valuation and negotiation of variations and claims.
    • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Prepare accurate and insightful commercial reports, cost value reconciliations, and financial statements for internal stakeholders.
    • Liaise effectively with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and project managers.
    • Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team, contributing to their professional development.
  • Requirements:
    • 7+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a strong background in either residential or commercial projects.
    • Experience gained from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor is highly desirable.
    • Exceptional commercial awareness, strong analytical and numerical skills, with a meticulous eye for detail.
    • Expert knowledge of relevant standard forms of contract and procurement strategies in the Irish market.
    • Superior communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of managing complex stakeholder relationships.
    • A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics. Professional accreditation is highly desirable.
