Anti Money Laundering Compliance Specialist

The Anti Money Laundering (AML) team at Northern Trust is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor to junior level employees. This role will require the completion of various tasks, including reviewing the work of others, developing training material, and participating in meetings with committees and senior management.

  • As an AML compliance specialist, you will have direct impact on the quality of tasks performed or services provided by the team.
  • You will be responsible for analyzing complex information and summarizing it into concise reports.
Responsibilities:

This role includes but is not limited to:
  • Providing guidance and support to junior level employees.
  • Developing and delivering training programs to ensure team members are equipped to perform their duties effectively.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Staying up-to-date with changing regulations and industry standards.
  • Contributing to the development of policies and procedures that promote a culture of compliance within the organization.
  • Participating in regular meetings with senior management and other stakeholders to discuss ongoing projects and initiatives.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to anti money laundering.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing priorities.
