Job Overview

We are seeking a high-achieving professional to take on the role of Business Development Manager.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled sales professional with experience in environmental testing. They will be responsible for driving business growth, identifying new opportunities and developing strategies to capture market share.

Key Responsibilities:
  • New Business Development: Generate and qualify new prospects through cold calling, meetings, and outreach.
  • Sales Cycle Management: Manage the full sales cycle - develop quotations, negotiate contracts, and close deals.
  • Account Management: Retain and grow a portfolio of allocated accounts, ensuring consistent revenue growth.
  • Market Research: Develop and execute key account strategies to capture 20–25% market share in target segments.
  • Pipeline Management: Track and report pipeline activity through CRM, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Stay ahead of competitors by maintaining a strong knowledge base of market activities.
Requirements:
  • Technical Expertise: 3–5 years' technical expertise in environmental fields (soil, water, asbestos, or air testing).
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills with proven success in customer-facing roles.
  • Prospecting: Hands-on mindset—comfortable with outbound prospecting, cold calling, and frequent travel.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field (MBA a plus).
  • Flexibility: Flexibility on location (role can be remote, based anywhere in Ireland; open to international candidates with critical skills visas).
