Occupational Therapist in Adult Mental Health

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Community Adult Mental Health Team in Athlone, Ireland.
Job Role:The successful candidate will maintain and build on our established OT presence, focusing on preventative interventions and recovery-focused care for adults with mental health difficulties in the community.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage a complex caseload of adults with varying mental health presentations, including anxiety, depression, psychosis, bipolar disorder, and personality disorders.
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to identify functional needs and inform care planning.
- Design and deliver individual and group-based interventions focused on improving daily living skills, community participation, vocational goals, and social engagement.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop recovery-focused care plans tailored to each service user.
- Participate in discharge planning, transition support, and liaison with primary care, community supports, and family/carers.
- Supervise and support the professional development of junior Occupational Therapists or students as required.
- BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent qualification recognised by CORU).
- CORU Registration (essential).
- Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, with at least 1 year in adult mental health.
- Experience delivering occupational therapy in the community.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, managing a diverse caseload.
- Full driver's licence and access to own transport (essential).
