The role of Occupational Health Nurse is a dynamic position that requires a candidate with a strong background in occupational health and safety.

To support the staff health and safety programme, we are looking for an experienced Occupational Health Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will have day-to-day responsibility for nurse lead pre-employment medicals, health surveillance, immunisations, and health promotion initiatives. They will work collaboratively with Occupational Physicians managing pre-employment healthcare screening and fitness to work reviews. Additionally, they will develop and lead a company Wellbeing Programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical responsibilities include managing the occupational health service for employees, reviewing Pre-Employment Medical Reports, and carrying out health assessments to ascertain fitness and advise on adaptations.
  • The successful candidate will also provide advice and management on adaptations based on risk assessments, identify higher risk individuals, and maintain accurate records.
  • Organisational/Advisory responsibilities include ensuring adherence to health and safety policies, maintaining confidentiality, and observing implementation of established procedures.
Education and Training
  • The ideal candidate will participate in the identification, development, and delivery of induction programmes, engage in performance review processes, and develop employee health & well-being programmes.
  • They will also provide input into the development and evaluation of health & safety procedures, assist in observing and ensuring implementation of established policies and procedures, and complete incident / near miss forms.
Requirements
  • The successful candidate will be registered in the General division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives, have a minimum of five years of practical experience, including three years in occupational health, and hold a post-graduate qualification in occupational health.
  • They will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, evidence of commitment to ongoing professional development, training, and research.
