Job Title: Technical Educator in Garment Construction

About the Role:

The primary focus of this position will be to design, develop, and deliver the Garment Construction module, ensuring learners acquire essential technical skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Expertise in flat pattern cutting, garment construction, and sewing techniques to create engaging learning materials and deliver effective lectures.
  • Excellent technical sewing and finishing skills using industry-standard methods, with the ability to troubleshoot industrial sewing machines.
  • Proven teaching excellence, strong professional communication skills, and the ability to motivate students to achieve success.
  • Stay up-to-date with current and emerging fashion industry practices, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills to ensure efficient delivery of teaching programs.
  • Self-motivated with strong organisational skills to undertake workroom management, digital presentation, and administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to contribute to leading-edge practice and participate in research activities.
Module Overview:

The Garment Construction module aims to equip learners with technical awareness and skills required to create designs and communicate effectively using industry terminology.

  • Candidates are required to deliver a 5-10 minute mock lecture on an item of their choice from an existing or proposed program.
