Job Title: Residential Support Worker

Job Description

The role of a residential support worker is to provide care and support to individuals with disabilities in a residential setting. This involves assisting with daily living activities, enabling them to live independent lives in line with HIQA national standards.

  • Assist with personal care and hygiene needs
  • Support individuals with all aspects of daily living including meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry
  • Transport service users to facilitate access to all daily living activities
  • Maintain professional communication and relationships with the team
  • Aware of safe working conditions and implement safe work practices
  • Report potential hazards, incidents, and concerns
  • Positively engage in team meetings, supervisions, training, and team events
Roles and Responsibilities

As a residential support worker, your key roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Empowering service users to live independent lives
  • Transporting service users
  • Participating in household duties
  • Maintaining professional communication and relationships
  • Awareness of safe working conditions
  • Positive engagement in team meetings and events
Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • QQI relevant qualification within the healthcare sector (minimum level 5)
  • Applicants must be 18+
  • Full clean manual driving license and access to own transport
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Knowledge of HIQA standards
  • Work or student experience in social care or relevant sector
