Overview Microsoft Defender Expert Location: Dublin 8 Expected Start: 1st week of December, Job Type: Full time day rate contract Work Model : 3 days onsite 2 days remote Mandatory requirements: Minimum 5 years’ experience in the role including Microsoft Defender Suite, Microsoft Security Ecosystem, Security Operations & Threat Management, and Scripting & Automation, including areas of: Microsoft Defender Suite: Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office , Defender for Cloud Apps, Defender for Identity and Mobile Threat defence. Microsoft Security Ecosystem: Microsoft Intune and Endpoint Manager, Microsoft Defender portal, Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) and Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM). Security Operations & Threat Management: Incident detection, investigation, and response; Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK framework; Threat hunting and analytics; and Security baselining and compliance monitoring. Scripting & Automation: PowerShell scripting for automation and reporting and Experience with APIs and automation tools. Education: Degree or higher in computer science or IT-related discipline. Certifications: Active certification in Microsoft security and compliance solutions (e.g. AZ-, SC-, SC-, SC-, SC-). Driver’s Licence: Full driving licence; evidence may be required prior to contract award. Language Proficiency: Native English speaker or CEFR Level C2 certificate or will be evaluated during interview if ranks in TOP3. Engage with Local Authorities to define and produce recommended best practice guidance Engage with individual Local Authorities to define and produce use cases Engage with individual Local Authorities and review their environment and recommend changes to deliver use cases Implement agreed use cases at Local Authorities level Supporting the Cyber Security unit/Local Authorities Provide knowledge transfer to Cyber Security Unit Participation at meetings Demonstrate experience with frameworks such as the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and the Well-Architected Framework (WAF), which are essential for developing best practice guidance Experience with the Microsoft Cybersecurity Reference Architecture (MCRA) for designing secure solutions Demonstrated experience in developing use cases and implementing them in real-world environments, particularly with local authorities or similar organizations Strong portfolio of previous projects where they have reviewed environments, recommended changes, and successfully implemented those change (Additional information is available on successful application) If you are interested in applying for this role, please do so via the relevant link.
