Their wide-reaching remit also includes supporting and developing the Irish media sector.About This RoleRole PurposeThis role supports the development and implementation of a compliance framework for media service providers to ensure the media landscape is providing a diversity of services and content to the public that is culturally relevant, inclusive, and reflects and shapes who we are. It enables Coimisiún na Meán to fulfil its regulatory responsibilities as set out in statute.About the Team/DivisionThe Compliance & Complaints team sits in the Media Landscape division and monitors compliance by certain media service providers with codes and rules, broadcasting contracts, European Works obligations and accessibility requirements. The team also handles complaints about broadcast and video-on[1]demand providers relating to accessibility obligations and content standards. The team is growing in size from 8 to 12 staff in the next few months, increasing to 3 sub-units, covering Complaints & Standards, Accessibility and Media Services & Content Diversity.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the development and rollout of the Media Services Compliance Framework with other Assistant Directors.Lead monitoring of broadcaster compliance with legislation, contracts, and Coimisiún na Meán policies.Develop regulatory rules on European Works for broadcasters and VOD providers and oversee compliance monitoring.Produce high-quality, insightful reports and presentations on activity to publishable standards.Review operations for efficiency and effectiveness, recommending and implementing improvements to systems, processes, and guidance.Collaborate across teams to establish new regulatory functions and develop, implement, and review policies.Lead a high-performing team, including recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and coaching to support organisational goals.Engage with industry, civil society, and Government stakeholders, and represent the organisation in national, European, and international fora.Ensure team activities and outputs comply with governance standards, legal obligations, and organisational policies.The above is intended as a guide to the general range of duties and is intended to be neither definitive nor restrictive and is subject to reviewAbout You - Experience, Skills, Knowledge & QualificationsEssential CriteriaMinimum 5 years’ relevant experience, including 2+ years in people management.Experience in a regulatory/public body and/or media sector.Proven ability to plan and lead projects.Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing skills.Excellent written communication across reports, presentations, policies, and correspondence.Experience designing and implementing processes and new systems.Skilled in independent research, data analysis, and report preparation.Ability to develop expertise in complex, fast-changing legislative and technological environments.Desirable CriteriaExperience with CRM tools and database management.NFQ Level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline.Fluency in or working knowledge of the Irish languageKey InformationBenefits, Package & PayThis position is offered on a Permanent basis.Full time, 35 hrs per weekAnnual Leave: 30 days per annum The role will be a hybrid role combining home and office working.
