Job Title: Trainee Accountant

Type: Full-Time, Permanent

My client is looking for a a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Accountant to join their team in Kerry. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting skills while working alongside experienced professionals with clients from all industries. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, with a strong interest in pursuing a career in accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.

Perform bookkeeping duties, including posting transactions and reconciling accounts.

Assist with the preparation of VAT returns and other tax filings.

Support in monthly and year-end closing procedures.

Assist with payroll processing and related tasks.

Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Liaise with internal teams and external auditors as required.

Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.

Participate in ad-hoc accounting projects as directed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

A minimum of a relevant qualification (e.g., a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field) or pursuing ACCA/CPA qualification.

Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.

Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Proficient in MS Excel and other accounting software (experience with Sage or similar is an advantage).

A strong willingness to learn and develop professionally.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Desirable Skills:

Previous internship or work experience in an accounting environment (preferred but not essential).

Knowledge of Irish tax regulations and financial reporting standards (helpful but not required).
