Reporting to the Fundraising & Retail Manager About COPE Galway COPE Galway has been providing essential social services in Galway for 60 years. We respond to the needs of people experiencing homelessness, women and children subjected to domestic abuse, and we support older people towards healthy, independent ageing. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys networking, spotting opportunities, and driving growth through meaningful connections.You'll play a key role in identifying and cultivating relationships with businesses, individuals, and partners that can help generate vital income for COPE Galway. Whether through corporate engagement, individual giving, or supporting key campaigns and events, your focus will be on growing support for our mission in a sustainable, strategic way.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and Manage Revenue-Generating RelationshipsProactively identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with corporate partners and individual donors, which deliver financial support for COPE Galway.Drive Strategic PartnershipsCreate and present compelling partnership proposals, represent COPE Galway at networking events, and actively seek opportunities to develop mutually beneficial collaborations that deliver revenue.Support the Delivery of High-Impact Fundraising EventsContribute to the planning, promotion, and execution of fundraising events such as the Business Leaders’ Sleep Out.Leverage Data for Relationship BuildingUse the Raiser’s Edge donor database to accurately record interactions, analyse trends, support segmented communications, and inform stewardship strategies.Provide Exceptional Supporter CareEnsure every donor and supporter receives a bespoke and meaningful experience that fosters long-term loyalty and support.Be a Visible Advocate for COPE GalwayActively represent COPE Galway in the community, in line with our vision, mission and values.Uphold Ethical Fundraising StandardsAdhere to best practice guidelines as outlined by the Charities Institute Ireland, ensuring all fundraising activity is transparent and ethical, and is aligned with COPE Galway’s organisational values.Team Player Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating initiative, creativity, and a solutions-focused mindset.Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications, experience, and core competencies:Education and TrainingRelevant third-level qualification. ExperienceMinimum 3 years’ experience in a fundraising, business development or sales role.Demonstrated success in identifying and building new business or donor relationships.Experience working in the charity, community, or voluntary sector is an advantage.Skilled in developing and delivering compelling proposals and presentations.Experience in managing supporter/donor journeys to increase engagement.Proficient in using CRM systems or donor databases to manage pipelines and track activity.CompetenciesExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal and networking abilities with a natural flair for relationship building.Results-driven with a clear focus on meeting income goals and fundraising targets.Highly organised, able to prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to changing needs and opportunities.Strong project management and coordination skills.Comfortable using Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams) and database systems.Understanding of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and experience engaging with corporate partnersWillingness to work occasional evenings and weekends, including working at major fundraising events such as the Business Leaders’ Sleep Out and the Christmas Day Swim.Full driving licence and access to personal transport is essential.Key Terms and Conditions of Employment24 days annual leave (not including bank holidays)Flexible hybrid working (role dependent).Employee Assistance Programme and up to €240 for paid private counselling.Trauma Informed Practice training.Learning and development opportunities.Pension scheme.Bike to work Scheme.Christmas Savings Scheme.Subsidised study assistance.Access to Hospital Saturday Fund.Staff discounts with selected local businessesEqual Opportunity EmployerCOPE Galway is an equal opportunity employer.
