TipperaryOnsite: 5 days per weekEmployment Type: Full-time, PermanentA leading pharmaceutical manufacturer is seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager – Microbiology to lead its microbiology team at a state-of-the-art facility in Cashel, Co. Tipperary.This is a senior leadership role reporting to the Senior Quality Director / Qualified Person, offering the chance to shape laboratory operations, drive compliance excellence, and contribute to strategic site growth.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, mentor, and develop a high-performing microbiology team.Oversee microbiology testing processes, lab design, and setup activities.Manage method and specification-related change controls.Lead microbiological investigations and technical transfers.Oversee and coordinate contract laboratory testing.Liaise with regulatory departments and external authorities on microbiology compliance.Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless quality operations.Support strategic site expansion and development of next-generation laboratory capabilities.Identify and implement process improvements across efficiency, resources, and budget.Establish and track KPIs for continuous quality performance.RequirementsBSc or MSc in Microbiology (essential).10+ years’ experience in a microbiology laboratory environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity (Supervisor/Manager level).Proven experience in a regulated pharmaceutical or biopharma setting.Strong understanding of GMP, quality systems, and regulatory standards.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop teams.Skilled in internal auditing, process optimisation, and strategic planning.Must be eligible to work in Ireland.Why ApplyJoin a global healthcare organisation with significant investment in Irish operations.Lead a growing microbiology function central to site expansion.Work alongside senior leadership in a supportive, innovation-driven environment.Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package offered.If you’re an experienced microbiology leader ready to make a lasting impact in a high-growth environment, apply today to discuss this opportunity in confidence.#LI-DB4
