Are you a qualified plumber with a strong eye for detail and a passion for improving energy efficiency in Irish homes? We're hiring Field-Based Retrofit Quality Inspectors to carry out inspections as part of the Better Energy Homes Scheme, delivered by SEAI. This is a role where you can plan your own day and own schedule.

The Role:

As a Retrofit Quality Inspector, you will conduct post-installation inspections on energy upgrade works carried out by registered contractors. These inspections ensure high standards and compliance with SEAI's quality specifications across domestic retrofit projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform quality assurance inspections on energy retrofit works in line with SEAI standards and codes of practice.Ensure timely and accurate completion of inspection documentation via digital tools or paper.Offer advice to homeowners, contractors, and internal teams regarding energy upgrades and scheme compliance.Manage appointments with homeowners – visits take place Monday to Friday, typically between 9am–5pm, with timing arranged the evening before.Complete 5–6 inspections per day, depending on homeowner availability and geographic factors.Collaborate with the scheduling team, with full administrative support.Attend regular training and contribute to continuous improvement in quality delivery.

Working Regionally – what to Expect:

Inspectors work within their local region (Ireland South, all within 2 hours' drive from their home base).Occasional travel outside the region may be required, with overnight hotel stays arranged and covered, including a food allowance.Expect to be away from home on average one day per week.All tools, safety gear, IT equipment, and uniform are provided.

Essential Requirements:

FETAC Level 6 qualification in Plumbing (mandatory)Solid knowledge of domestic construction and heating systemsComfortable working in a field-based, autonomous roleClear communication skills, especially with homeowners and contractorsProficient with mobile devices and digital reporting toolsFull driving licence

Desirable (but not essential):

RGII registrationHeat Pump Installation trainingKnowledge of insulation types and techniques
