The Business Development Director will drive sales growth in a number of sectors and target industries using expertise in creating and generating leads from an existing prospect database as well as developing a robust new prospect pipeline to ensure sales targets are met.

The RoleAs part of the team, your key responsibilities are:
Actively identify potential leads to grow and maintain a robust sales pipeline and attract new clients.Consistently and accurately maintain CRM database ensuring content is kept up to date.Meet deadlines and sales targets.Maintain excellent relationships with insurers and stay up to date on industry developments.Conduct meetings with prospective clients when required.Support and liaise with the Business Development Director and Sales and Marketing Team including attendance at regular team meetings.Understand target markets (including industry) and which strategies can be used to attract new clients.Meticulous attention to detail ensuring internal company and regulatory standards are adhered to at all times.Support marketing campaigns by telephone follow-up.Deal with clients in a professional manner, addressing queries in a timely fashion and ensuring any outstanding matters are resolved prior to handover to the business.Check and issue policy documentation.Collaborate with the team to ensure the smooth implementation of campaigns and their rollout and follow up.Assist in the development of internal cross-selling campaigns by collaborating with internal stakeholders.Map new business opportunities using industry research and lead generation tools, taking a proactive approach to bringing new market intelligence to the team and delivering on targets.Complete complex market submissions and insurer follow up.Support client-facing staff in maintaining CRM requirements.Self-generate prospect meetings and liaise with the Willis Contact Management team to create further sales appointments.Work with team colleagues to develop winning proposals for prospects.Maintain a detailed knowledge of products and services offered by Willis Towers Watson.Network internally with other business units, within the sector, and with external specialists (lawyers, TPAs, insurers).QualificationsCIP minimum requirement, ACII and/or MDI an advantage.Experienced in new business sales process with a track record of converting prospects to clients.Previous experience in a sales-driven role in the insurance industry is an advantage.Skilled at building effective relationships at all levels with clients, prospects, associates, insurers, and external specialists.Good practical knowledge of account development and appropriate tools to achieve this aim.Experienced knowledge of the insurance industry to effectively address client and Willis Towers Watson needs.Ability to represent the practice and Willis Towers Watson with integrity and credibility.Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Join us at WTW and be part of a team that is shaping the future of risk management and insurance brokerage.
