What's the Role and Service?
We are looking for an experienced Project Worker to join our Cherry Orchard Family Support service team in Cherry Orchard and Lucan.
Our support service is a targeted integrated and trauma-informed Family Support service.
The service offers a range of
needs-led
and
outcomes-focused
preventative and responsive Family Support interventions.
We provide services to 30-32 families at any one time and target children aged between 5-12 years.
The Cherry Orchard service is based from a house within the community.
Much of the work is project based, however staff carry out home visits and attend meetings around the West Dublin area, which includes Cherry Orchard and Lucan.
What will my day to day look like?
In this role, you will develop and implement programmes that respond to the needs of children and families referred to the service working in partnership with families and other organisational, community and voluntary bodies.
You will be responsible for the following:
Assessing the needs of the children and the families engaging with the project.
Planning, implementing and reviewing programmes for children/young people/carers/families based on an assessment of their individual and group needs.
Working with children/young people/carers/families in a variety of ways, including group work, individual work and family work, centre based and outreach work.
Liaising effectively with families and other statutory, community and voluntary bodies and to attend and contribute to reviews and case conferences as required.
Identifying and documenting to the line manager any unmet needs of children/young people/carers/families within the service and to participate in the advocacy work of the agency.
Working as part of the team to promote engagement with fathers in family support
Delivering services to families areas in Dublin West which includes, Ballyfermot, Cherry Orchard and Lucan as agreed, within service level agreements
What experience do I need?
A minimum of 2 years post qualification experience of working with vulnerable children and families.
Experience of working in partnership with families and carers.
Experience of planning, implementing and reviewing programmes with children and/or families.
Yes, to be considered for this role you will hold a recognised third level practice qualification[1] (minimum Level 7 on the NFQ) in one of the following:
Early Childhood Care and Education / Social Care / Education / Social Work / Youth Work or related discipline (Nursing, Psychology, Early Years Education).
Applicants must be registered or eligible for registration with CORU as a Social Care Worker.
This includes those currently in the process of registration under CORU's transitional arrangements (grandparenting route).
Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria but have not yet completed registration are encouraged to apply.
However, you will be required to provide proof of registration or evidence you have initiated the application process.
Additional Information:
A full driving licence and access to the use of a car suitably insured vehicle essential.
The post-holder is initially assigned to work in the Dublin West area but may be required in the future to work in other project(s) in the Dublin area, in line with organisational needs.
