Overview
Clinical Nurse Specialist (Psychiatry of Later Life) role in the National Mental Health clinical programme.
The purpose of the post is to deliver effective, recovery-oriented, high-quality, team-based, integrated care for older persons with mental health problems.

Responsibilities
Deliver care in line with the five core concepts of the CNS role as outlined in the NCNM framework.
Undertake assessments and initiate a range of evidenced-based recovery-oriented clinical interventions.
Link with statutory services in secondary and primary care, and with voluntary services in the local community.
Work as part of a community mental health team with standardised assessments and management, including follow-up with families/carers as appropriate.
Provide domiciliary visits and family support, and liaise with other services to coordinate care.
Caseload
The caseload comprises service users attended by the identified community mental health team or service and will be within the post's scope of practice.
