Deputy Chief Executive Officer glaigh Nisinta na hireann (Organisation of National Ex-Service Personnel- ONE) The Organisation: glaigh Nisinta na hireann (Organisation of National Ex-Service Personnel- ONE) is a registered charity for veterans of the Defence Forces in Ireland.
ONE provides accommodation and meals for 51 veterans, who would otherwise be homeless, in its four residential homes and is developing further homes to bring its homeless accommodation capacity to bedrooms over the next three years.
It also has a nationwide network of Veterans Support Centres and Branches, all supported by six full time Veteran Support Officers (Counsellors).
The Role: The Deputy CEO works closely with all elements of the organisation in supporting the CEO lead and manage ONE while recognising the evolving and growing needs of veterans of the Defence Forces.
Yourprincipal responsibilities will be to: Support the CEO with leadership and management with an emphasis on quality service, efficient and effective use of resources, and the current andfuture development of ONE.
Continue to enhance the reputation of ONE throughstrong leadership, persuasive stakeholder engagement and effective governance within the organisation.
Assist the CEO in leading and motivating a team of committed staff and volunteers to deliver on the charitable objective, values, and strategy of ONE.
Identify and manage appropriate joint ventures with third parties for the benefit of veterans.
Build on relationships with ONEs key partners including the Defence Forces, Department of Defence, other Government Departments, Local Authorities, and Charity / Community and Commercial Partners.
Build on relationships with other veteran organisations.
The Person: Selection Criteria You should have: A relevant third level qualification and / or relevant experience.
Proven experience as a leader in another relevant managerial position.
Experience in developing strategies and implementing vision.
A clear understanding of the ethos of ONE and the issues affecting veterans of the Irish Defence Forces.
Familiarity with diverse business functions such as marketing, PR, finance, accounting etc.
Knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices.
An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organisational and leadership skills.
Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
