Your Role
We are seeking a skilled and reliable
Container Maintenance and Repair Operative
to join our operations team in CCIS Dublin, Ireland.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of intermodal shipping containers (both dry and reefer units), ensuring they meet safety, quality, and operational standards.
What You'll Be Doing | Main Responsibilities
Inspection & Assessment
– Inspect incoming and outgoing containers for damage, structural integrity, and cleanliness.
Assess the extent of repairs required in line with international standards (IICL, ISO, etc.).
Maintenance & Repair
– Carry out welding, panel replacement, door adjustments, flooring repairs, and other general container maintenance tasks.
Ensure repairs meet client, industry, and safety standards.
Documentation
– Record inspection and repair details accurately using internal systems our hand-held devices.
Prepare condition reports and damage estimates when required.
Compliance & Safety
– Follow all safety procedures, including PPE usage, fire safety, and hazardous material handling.
Ensure work complies with company policies, health and safety regulations, and ISO/IICL standards.
General Duties
– Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Collaborate with yard staff, supervisors, and operational supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
Support depot operations as needed, including container cleaning, painting, and depot organisation
What Do We Need | Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Proven experience in container repair, welding, or a related mechanical or industrial trade.
Familiarity with IICL repair standards and container structures.
Certification or strong experience in MIG/TIG welding (desirable).
Basic knowledge of reefer container units and refrigeration systems (a plus).
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
Good communication and reporting skills.
