About the roleThe emphasis for this position is on analytics, data science, statistics, and program design, managing complex analytical projects and portfolios.
The ideal candidate will have solid stakeholder management experience, along with proven ability to manage engineering teams developing scalable analytics solutions.Primary Responsibilities:Work with stakeholders to refine business roadmap and high-level business requirements; presenting at weekly and monthly executive steering committee meetings; working with stakeholders to deliver business solutions, drive change, and resolve any roadblocksProvide insight and guidance into actionable analytic findings through clear, succinct written and oral summaries, tables, charts, reports or presentations, that can be understood by a variety of audiencesSet standards related to data, data governance, project planning and execution, define approach and methodology for the team to deliver and exceed client needsArchitect the analytic solutions; lead programmers in accomplishing the outcomes and take accountability for socializing the changeEvolve the existing Data Strategy; define how the organization can leverage data in support of making business decisions, and building a workplan that includes people, processes, and technology to make the plan a realityDrive innovation by testing new technology and approaches to continually advance the capability of the engineering teamsDrive efficiencies via standardization of development patterns and building cloud native productsIdentify gaps, quality, process improvement, and automation opportunities, and lead such activities to executionUtilize a broad range of analytic approaches including predictive analytics, issue detection, trend analysis, and data visualization to best address the business prioritiesRequired Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (data science, analytics, mathematics, economics, business, statistics, engineering, or finance) or equivalent experienceProven track record of developing strategic plans and deploying analytic products to improve business performance.
Extensive experience working with professionals in a matrix management environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlinesDemonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to interact collaboratively with internal customers across multiple departments and business segmentsDemonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely in writing and orally to individuals and groupsProven effective data analysis and interpretation skills, able to draw and present quantitative conclusionsAbility to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating good level of maturityExperience with statistical models, demonstrate understanding of different statistical methods and approachesAdvanced experience in Machine Learning or AI model development and deploymentDemonstrated passion for innovation and a desire to make a significant impact on the healthcare industryExpert proficiency in SQL, and at least one scripting language such as SAS, R, or PythonProven track record in driving change and influence individuals at all levels of the organization and to take appropriate risksHigh degree of proficiency with Data Visualization / Dashboard tools (e.g., Power BI)Required Qualifications: Master's Degree or a PhD in relevant field (data science, analytics, mathematics, economics, business, statistics, engineering, or finance) or equivalent experienceExperience or knowledge of cloud-based data analytics e.g. (AWS, Azure, Snowflake)Experience in medical data including hospital, ancillary, and physicianAt UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
