The career development team is a team of career professionals and co-ordinators working collaboratively to facilitate and empower students toward career success.
We assist students to overcome challenges they may face during their education and to encourage them to develop sustainable strategies for success as future healthcare professionals.

As a Programme Coordinator, you will work closely with the Head of Career Development, the Director of Clinical Electives and various stakeholders to deliver a superior experience in the clinical electives and career development programme.
The successful candidate will need proven experience in administration, change management, in supporting growth and embedding a professional services culture in an evolving institution.
They will also need clearly demonstrated skills in managing both external and internal stakeholders in the context of multiple competing deadlines and priorities, and consistent promotion of an ambitious quality improvement agenda through an integrated approach.
They will build on the existing successes and strengths of the programme to maintain and further develop RCSI's international reputation for excellence.
The post would suit an experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated co-ordinator who has strong experience of working in a dynamic collaborative team.
The ability to work independently, managing a busy workload with competing priorities and tight deadlines is essential, as is attention to detail and accuracy.
They must have a highly professional approach to work with a team player mentality that offers support for colleagues across the institution and possess excellent organisational and communication skills.
To provide effective, efficient and professional services it is expected that the successful candidate be flexible in terms of hours of work and will maintain confidentiality, diplomacy and tact regarding internal and external relations.
Duties include: Processing of requests, associated paperwork and communications for incoming and outgoing clinical and preclinical elective placements Co-ordination of North American residency programme application documents to include medical school performance evaluations (MSPE) and any other associated documentation as required Proactively respond to all communications related to all the elective and career development programme Provide high-level professional administrative support to Head of career development in relation to student electives and North American residency applications Design and deliver elective and career programme presentations to students Manage complex Excel files to manipulate and automate reported data Run routine reports for career development team, students/alumni, employers, staff and faculty Design, create, change (as needed) the many forms, lists, and reports needed/requested by staff, faculty, and administration.
Input documentation data Collaborate and continuously liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of the elective and other career programme's Attend meetings and represent career development team in a professional and courteous manner; Support with general University duties when deemed necessary (i.e., College Awards Ceremonies, Conferrings etc.) Develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders Be flexible and responsive to the needs of staff and students Provide additional support and assistance on tasks and projects as directed by management; Always represent the best interests of Career Development Team in all activities Undergo programmes of training and development as may be required from time to time Perform other duties as may be required from time to time Person specification Knowledge and experience (essential): Proven track record of delivering within a fast-paced team environment Effective analytical and time management skills High level of accuracy and attention to detail Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills to maximise individual and team effectiveness High level of accuracy and attention to detail Adapt positively to change, can take direction and respond effectively to changing needs and circumstances Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications Proven ability to learn new processes and procedures High degree of independence, flexibility, initiative and commitment Customer focused; Excellent organisational skills and the ability to demonstrate initiative Proven track record of trouble shooting day to day activities Knowledge and experience (desirable): Degree qualified in a relevant discipline Familiarity with Graduate pathways, Residency Programmes, University Awards and the National Framework of Qualifications Experience with external electives portals including AFMC and VSLO, Ca RMS/ERAS Project management and delivery experience Exposure to process improvement initiatives and delivery of same We are all too aware that imposter syndrome and the confidence gap can sometimes stop fantastic candidates putting themselves forward, so please do submit an application - we'd love to hear from you.
