Social and Activities Coordinator | SignaCare New Ross

We are currently recruiting for an Activities Coordinator for SignaCare, New Ross, Co Wexford.

Principal Duties:

  • To participate in enhancing the intellectual and social wellbeing of the residents to provide as far as possible, a happy and stimulating experience.
  • Help Residents to socialise within the home and community
  • Encourage staff members, relatives and friends to participate in the home's activities with Residents.
  • Complete This is me booklets with Residents and families and ensure all Residents have memory box's, name plates on rooms with choice of picture or symbol
  • To plan ongoing weekly activity rotas in conjunction with the Residents wishes, and encourage Residents to maintain pre-existing hobbies.
  • To assess individual needs continuously, particularly with regard to possible rehabilitation and to participate in Resident reviews as appropriate.
  • Foster good community relation and manage the volunteer programme in line with the centres policy

 

Minimum requirements:

  • Experience in Older person care
  • Experience in Dementia Care
  • Ability to plan and lead in activities /social planning in line with Resident's choice and ability.

 

Desirable:

  • Sonas or Imagination Gym Training desirable
  • Dementia Specific training
  • Degree / masters level programme related to Social / Healthcare
