Clare, Ireland, and reporting to the Product Development Engineering Manager, the Software QA Engineer will assist in developing and maintaining our next generation applications. About Us

Vitalograph is the world's leading manufacturers of medical respiratory diagnostic devices and software, used in the diagnosis of respiratory disorders, and advanced high-reliability equipment and software systems used in respiratory end-point clinical drug trials.


The role

The Software QA Engineer will work in one of our Pulmonary Function Test application project teams, to help drive continuous roadmap delivery. Pulmonary function tests (PFTs) are tests that show how well your lungs are working. The tests measure lung volume, capacity, rates of flow, and gas exchange.


The team

The PFT team consists of hardware, mechanical and software engineers and the Software QA Engineer will assist the team in the delivery of new features for our PFT applications, driving the product roadmap forward.


The responsibilities of Software QA Engineer will include: -

        Projects

o  Assisting the project team in developing new features, driving the product roadmap forward.

o  Assisting the project team in verifying implemented features.

o  Ensuring project artefacts e.g. documentation are delivered at each release point.

        People

o  Operating in the project team in a co-operative, respectful manner.

o  Maintaining a positive and motivating outlook.

        Process

o  Operate in an agile environment, delivering tasks on a sprint-by-sprint basis.

o  Assisting in the delivery of software releases.

o  Ensuring that all work and tasks carried out are consistent and compliant with our Quality Management System.


The ideal candidate

The Software QA Engineer will: -

        Have a 3rd level degree, or equivalent, in a Software Engineering or related discipline. An alternative background with relevant experience will be considered.

        Have a strong team ethic.

        Have a minimum of 2 years relevant software testing (or equivalent) experience.

        Demonstrate competence in own area.

        Work with moderate guidance in area of knowledge.

        Have the ability to perform the duties specified effectively and efficiently.

        Have the ability to complete all aspects of a given task timely, and to a high standard.

        Have the ability to communicate effectively with those he/she works with.

        Have the ability to work with others in a spirit of good will and cooperation.

        Have a strong sense of urgency and ownership.

        

The following skills would be advantageous:

o  Experience in the development and execution of test strategies.

o  Experience with ALM and/or QA tools.

o  QA experience across a range of software applications and platforms.
