We have an exciting opportunity in the District Heating Centre of Excellence (DH CoE) in the Decarbonised Heat & System Support Department.
The Decarbonised Heat & System Support Department is new to SEAI and will comprise the transfer of existing functions plus the establishment of the new national District Heating Centre of Excellence. The existing functions comprise of the Decarbonised Heating and Cooling research function, the Single Point of Contact service for consenting in renewable energy projects and the SEAI Sustainable Energy Communities, Schools and RESS programmes.
The DH CoE is a national team, who are committed to delivery of programme areas, which include:
- Market Development - Promote DH nationally providing leadership and representation for the sector, leveraging experience of the Centre of Excellence to deliver informed insights, guidance, and data.
- District Heating Strategy - Support the development of DH nationally, ensuring strategic objectives and outcomes are achieved.
- District Heating Support Unit - Support development and deployment of DH schemes nationally, providing guidance and expertise to the sector.
The successful candidate will report to the Head of the Decarbonised Heat & System Support Department.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
- A degree (Level 7 on NFQ) or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Science or Economics.
- Minimum 6 years' experience of working in this or a related sector or in a similar role (can include postgraduate studies).
- Experience of project management and demonstrated ability to delegate and manage a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, presenting, public speaking.
- Knowledge of the energy sector, particularly in energy efficiency and renewable energy in business and industry, would be a distinct advantage.
- Experience and expertise in DH scheme development, design and implementation.
- Commercial management expertise in DH with knowledge of business model development, procurement, negotiation, risk management, governance, contract management.
- A qualification in project management.
The SEAI has a legal obligation to ensure that all employees are lawfully entitled to work in Ireland. To qualify, candidates must hold a valid visa on the date of application and where applicable to support a candidate's application, candidates must submit a valid work permit/visa confirming permission to work in Ireland when requested. Failure to submit the required evidence, and failure to hold a valid permit/visa during the period of the contract, will result in the application and/or contract of employment being rendered void.
