Dublin, Ireland AECOM Full time
Job Description

Start here. Grow here

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant or Hydrogeologist to add to our talented team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to further your career within an established and successful company that has ESG and staff wellbeing as core values.

You will be based in our Dublin office, but our Freedom to Grow policy provides for flexible and hybrid work options to enable you to achieve a rewarding work-life balance.

About you

You’ll be an ambitious team player with the technical and commercial skills, knowledge, and experience to take day-to-day responsibility for delivering small projects or portions of larger projects, capable of completing your own work to a high standard and coordinating and reviewing the work of more junior staff.

You’ll be comfortable working with a high degree of independence to ensure technical quality and adherence to budget and programme, determining your own work priorities and managing your schedule accordingly. You’ll be able to prepare fee proposals and lead the input to projects across all stages from desk study and feasibility through ground investigation and assessment, through to remediation.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Environmental assessments – PSA, DSA, QRA, CSM development
  • Groundwater and surface water monitoring
  • Site investigation design and implementation
  • Remediation design, implementation and validation
  • Waste classification and excavated soils management

Your role will include:

  • Planning and delivery of technical scope
  • Developing fee proposals for internal and external clients
  • Management of technical work, programme and financial performance
  • Liaising with clients, coordinating field service subcontractors and laboratory services
  • Supervision and mentoring of junior staff
  • Ensuring effective implementation of the AECOM quality management system
  • Prioritising Health and Safety in all aspects of delivery

About us

We are one of the largest contaminated land/remediation-focused teams in Ireland, serving a wide range of end markets and clients. Our experts provide one-stop access to services ranging from desk studies, site investigation, risk assessment, remediation (strategy development, design, implementation and validation), monitoring and close-out on a wide range of contracts.

The Remediation team is part of AECOM’s broader Environment, Water & Energy business in Ireland, providing specialist services to clients in the areas of permitting and compliance, environmental impact assessment, water, renewable energy, waste, sustainability and ecology, among others.

We work for leading Irish and international clients on commissions of varying scale for both public sector bodies and high-profile private sector clients across the commercial development, aviation, rail, power, transportation, technology, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors.

Qualifications

Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Relevant experience, knowledge and skills
  • Strong understanding of contaminated land assessment regulations and guidance
  • Hands-on experience within field investigation, including site management, drilling supervision, collection of groundwater and ground gas samples, or the supervision of remediation activities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise technical reports and documents.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and inter-personal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Clean driving licence
  • Amenable to occasional travel within Ireland and the UK

For this role you will ideally hold a degree in a relevant environmental science, hydrogeology or engineering based subject and you will be working towards chartership.

We celebrate diversity, including neurodiversity, and believe it enriches our team. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and abilities. If you are an applicant with a disability that requires reasonable accommodation to complete the application process, please contact us at ReasonableAdjustments@aecom.com. At AECOM, we value everyone's unique contributions and perspectives.

If you meet some of the requirements above or have transferable skills you believe would benefit us, we would be delighted to hear from you
