Deputy Head Receptionist Grade IV

Applications are invited for the position of Deputy Head Receptionist in the Reception Department,

Objective: Supervise the Reception team and service as required. Deputise in the absence of the Head Receptionist in the management and operation the reception department within St. Vincent's Private Hospital. The Deputy Head Receptionist will also be a participating member of the Reception team.

 

Essential Criteria

 Have a minimum of two years experience in a front office/customer facing role

 Be IT competent with good PC skills (ECDL or equivalent)

 Ability to work on your own, making decisions and dealing with situations which may arise

 Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with a range of multidisciplinary people

 Have strong leadership skills and a proven ability to solve every-day Reception and staff issues by quickly identifying and implementing corrective measures

Desirable Criteria

 Experience within a Healthcare setting

 Cash Office Experience

 Supervisor/people management skills

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities, including:

Assisting in the absence of the Head Receptionist :

 Deputise in the absence of the Head Receptionist in the delivery of the Reception service. Performing such other duties as agreed with and delegated by the Head Receptionist. Supervise team members in their day to day duties by agreeing goals and objectives designed to achieve the standards agreed by the department.

 Work as relief in the Support Services Cash Office

 Train in new staff and also train existing staff on new procedures

 

Performing general duties, including:

 Maintaining regular communications and handover with the Head Receptionist

 Reporting any health and safety issues to the Head Receptionist or relevant department

 Complying with all statutory legislation and department policies and procedures

 In order to provide effective and efficient services it is expected that the successful candidate be flexible in terms of hours of work
