Join us in this commercial and strategic role leading our Cork Contract Logistics Business in delivering excellence for our customers.
Your Role The role of the Contract Logistics Manager is to manage the operations of all Contract Logistics businesses within the Kuehne+Nagel Cork Branch Network. With responsibility for two warehouses, HPRA approved facility servicing a key global pharma client in the Cork area to including off site locations. you will be responsible for the commercial relationship with our customers and the strategic and financial management of the business. Providing leadership to your team of Warehouse Managers, you will enable them to deliver operational excellence at their sites. Your Responsibilities- Strategically plan and manage the Cork Contract Logistics function in line with customer agreements and KPIs, delivering customer excellence at each stage of the customer life cycle
- Prepare for and attend customer meetings and/or Quarterly Business Reviews with key customers, driving the delivery of associated actions and improvements
- Develop the existing customer base through strong relationship management and collaboration with relevant internal functions
- Drive commercial growth through the optimisation of existing space and the creation of business opportunity proposals
- Own and be responsible for month-end closing activity including customer invoicing, performance to target, cost management etc..
- Support the monthly Profit and Loss forecasting process. Financial management of the business with a focus on gross profit through in-depth knowledge of rates, costs and accurate reporting
- Deliver the annual operational plan through the provision of clearly defined objectives, priorities, policies and procedures to Cork Contract Logistics teams. Set measure and report against relevant operational KPI’s, ensuring that gaps are addressed through tracked actions. Engage and retain colleagues through effective performance management, a focus on development and promoting meaningful engagement with organisational initiatives
- Ensure clear and timely internal information flows to all Contract Logistics teams in Cork.
- Demonstrated experience in Logistics management in a 3PL environment with proven knowledge of the International
- Freight & Contact Logistics business and they key industry players
- Detailed understanding of all aspects of the financial elements in Logistics and P&L
- Experience in driving improvements and business growth. Demonstrated experience in efficiency and process improvement, including LEAN principles
- Proven management responsibility in direct and indirect reporting structures (line or project management)
- Ability to influence and align with other business managers to ensure multi-modal clients are fully supported
- Strong customer service and relationship building focus
- Sound knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, costing, and cost analysis. Proven problem-solving ability and record of executing effective decisions
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
