Overview

Are you interested in building and safeguarding distributed services that can process requests at extremely low latency, in a high-scale manner, at terabits per second of traffic and millions of requests per second, across hundreds of millions of users, with extreme reliability? Azure Front Door delivers a geographically distributed internet-facing set of services that provide acceleration, caching, protection, and highly customizable traffic processing. Azure Front Door is an all-encompassing charter that includes the building of Content Delivery Network (CDN), Dynamic Site Acceleration (DSA), Audio Video streaming acceleration, advanced load balancing & rapid failover, Web Application Firewall (WAF), and with many other capabilities. Azure Front Door enables our customers to take a simple backend application and expose it to the world such that the app has global footprint, low-latency, high-throughput, super-scale, fault-tolerance, security, easy management, and reduced load on the customer backend. As a member of this team in Azure Front Door, you will be responsible for developing and operating the Web Application Firewall, building robust services for safeguarding the system at different system layers and protecting our customer services using the latest technologies across platforms. You will write and operate code that is super-scale but lightweight, maintainable, efficient, and reliable. Your work will be critical in enhancing the performance, quality, density, and reliability of the platform.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, or RUST
    • OR equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of people management experience

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Rust
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Rust
    • OR equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of people management experience
  • Experience building distributed services and managing live sites
  • Experience with protocol stacks HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) and/or Network stack and OS (operating systems) internals
