Payroll Associate

To manage the end-to-end payroll process and auto enrolment compliance for a portfolio of clients. Develop relationships with your clients also ensuring effective communication with the wider offices and other third-party providers. To work as part of the wider team to review work produced by more junior team members and support the Payroll Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete payroll process and ensure compliance with auto-enrolment regulations for a diverse portfolio of clients.
- Handle all payroll-related tasks, including processing and filing ERR submissions, to ensure the seamless completion of payroll cycles.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients while maintaining effective communication with colleagues across offices and external third-party providers.
- Collaborate with the broader team to review work completed by junior team members and provide support to the Payroll Manager.
- Respond promptly to client and third-party queries, offering assistance and expertise as needed.
- Benefit from regular training sessions provided by Azets, covering topics such as legislative updates and system improvements.
- Conduct peer reviews of payrolls to maintain high standards of accuracy and compliance.
- Streamline existing processes within the team and ensure payroll records and files are accurately updated and maintained.
- Take on ad-hoc tasks or projects as required, contributing to team success and operational efficiency.
- Create and refine ad-hoc financial and operational reports to meet business and client needs.
Key Requirements
- Over two years’ experience in payroll with experience using EuroPay or an equivalent system.
- Our preferred candidate would be IPASS qualified.
- Experience of working in a payroll bureau environment an advantage.
- End to end Payroll processing experience including pensions, benefits and statutory payments.
- Must have the ability to manually calculate a payroll.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail across both manual and systems based work.
- A natural ability to coordinate, prioritise and multitask with little supervision.
- Strong customer focused approach, ability to handle customer queries by telephone and email.
- Be able to adapt to a highly changeable environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure whilst meeting tight deadlines.
- In depth knowledge and understanding of payroll legislation, processing, and auto enrolment regulations.
- Effective client management experience and steps towards staff management.
- Mentorship and coaching experience to support other team members to ensure they perform work duties.
