Job Summary
:In this position, you will play a crucial role in the Global Strategic Sourcing Team for Drug Delivery Devices business. You will focus on creating and executing strategic sourcing plans and strategies that align with global business goals and uphold professional business practices. The ideal candidate should possess substantial technical and sourcing expertise in electromechanical medical devices, collaborating with component suppliers and external manufacturing partners. As the Director, you will execute these strategies, lead negotiations, manage supplier relationships, and oversee key programs for electronics & EMS categories.
Collaborate closely with the Senior Director Strategic Sourcing and other teams to establish Supply Risk Mitigation programs that guarantee continuous supply certainty. Keep West leadership informed about market trends impacting the relevant categories.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop strategic sourcing strategies that align with the business's long-term objectives. Identify and evaluate supplier risks, proposing collaborative risk mitigation strategies to ensure consistent product supply, quality, and compliance.
- Manage supplier relationships to foster continuous improvement and innovation, competitive pricing, excellent product and service quality, and alignment with internal stakeholders and company strategies.
- Expand and maintain a supplier network to meet evolving business needs.
- Lead competitive bid processes, including RFI's, RFP's, and negotiations for components and EMS services, aiming to enhance business value.
- Proactively manage critical supplier issues, liaising with key stakeholders and offering recommendations for resolution.
- Cultivate trustworthy and collaborative relationships with cross-functional peers, aligning targets to optimize resources.
- Oversee supplier-specific cost improvement programs to achieve annual cost reduction goals.
- Ensure compliance with all pertinent regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Lead ad hoc analysis and projects as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related technical field is mandatory.
- Master's Degree MBA is desirable.
Work Experience:
- At least 10 years of progressive business experience in sourcing, supplier or category management, with technical knowledge of electronic components necessary.
- Prior experience in Medical Device manufacturing is advantageous.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Contribute to Lean Sigma programs towards achieving set targets.
- Adhere to the company's safety and quality policies consistently.
- Demonstrate broad experience in supplier and contract management.
- Ability to collaborate with senior leadership across manufacturing sites and global headquarters.
- Possess strong influencing, negotiation, and change management skills.
- Capable of presenting sourcing cases confidently to diverse audiences.
- Communicate respectfully and challenge senior leadership effectively.
- Embrace new initiatives, be proactive, and exhibit a rapid learning curve.
- Experience leading teams and fostering positive relationships internally and externally.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Results-driven mindset with exceptional analytical skills.
- Self-motivated and skilled at motivating cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in SAP and possessing a CPM Certification from the Institute For Supply Management is preferred.
Travel Requirements:
- Expected to travel up to 25% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Position involves sedentary work, occasionally exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force, primarily involving sitting. Jobs are deemed sedentary if walking and standing are only required infrequently, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
