We are hiring a Finance Assistant for our Finance Billing TeamReporting to the Banking Team Lead, the Finance Assistant will collaborate with the Finance Department's Banking team to ensure accurate completion of daily banking activities and reconciliation within strict deadlines.This is a fantastic permanent opportunity to enhance your skills and experience while working with the AXA Ireland Finance team.We follow a smart working hybrid model, requiring you to work away from home for at least 40% of your week.Main responsibilities include:
  • Offering support to the branch network for receipting, closedown, and lodgements.
  • Investigating and resolving lodgement discrepancies, escalating when necessary.
  • Keeping cheque tracking and processing up to date and making appropriate adjustments.
  • Preparing monthly bank reconciliations, investigating discrepancies, and clearing them promptly.
  • Posting accurate, timely, and complete journal information to the general ledger system.
  • Reconciling bank accounts to the general ledger and posting adjusting entries promptly.
  • Maintaining proper evidence for reconciliations and controls.
  • Collaborating with third parties to ensure efficient job processing (IT, corporate banking).
  • Supporting ad hoc projects and internal/external audits as needed.
  • Assisting other finance teams as necessary.
Your Profile
  • 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • Qualified in or currently pursuing a relevant business qualification Diploma/IATI.
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of general accounting concepts (debits, credits).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated with good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Using IT systems and packages to enhance work quality within Data Protection Act and AXA Global Security guidelines.
  • Staff may be rotated across relevant Finance functions to develop skills and expertise.
