As part of the global controls project management team, you will work with highly motivated experts and innovators in the data center industry.

You will be tasked with several projects, from driving multi-million dollar controls deployments to retrofitting legacy buildings. You will work on developing new processes or standards and test new innovations in the controls space utilizing Amazon leadership principles

Key job responsibilities

Our Controls Design Engineers:

  • Drive the controls lifecycle;
  • Develop project scope, specifications, engineering drawings;
  • Interpret a combination of mechanical, electrical and plumbing drawings;
  • Have an understanding of HVAC equipment and technology;
  • Ensure systems are deployed and commissioned to documented standards;
  • Strive for frugality through budgetary review and approval with strong customer focus and ability to interpret customer needs;
  • Quickly remove road blocks at any point in a project;
  • Be (become) a technical subject matter expert for internal customers;
  • Work autonomously and quickly identify answers to unknowns;
  • Effectively manage vendors to execute work and vendor performance;
  • Review vendor bid package and make selection recommendation;
  • Have project management experience. They solve problems to drive results whilst handling multiple tasks;
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed to manage your projects (up to 50% of the time).
  • Participate in an emergency oncall support rotation.

About the team
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running.

We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of: electrical diagrams, control diagrams, building operations, control circuits, industrial HVAC.
  • Experience managing projects in critical facilities
  • Experience with one or a combination of the following products: Siemens: Apogee/Desigo, Honeywell: Building Controls/Trend,

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated success in leading teams in a critical infrastructure environment. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Management of projects with a budget over $2 million annually
