An exciting opportunity exists to join the Risk & Compliance team on a full time permanent basis to provide technical & administrative support.

The Risk & Compliance team helps ensure that we meet our legal, regulatory and professional obligations as a firm and helps protect the firm and its people from unnecessary risk.

The role would involve a range of technical and administrative support to the team in particular, and also to partners and fee earners throughout the firm on risk & compliance related issues (such as information barriers), as well as more traditional administrative support including document creation and management, including in the updating of the firm's policies and procedures, compliance records and insurance records.

Such work requires in depth experience of the operation of a law firm, rigor in applying and explaining standards, creativity in problem solving and independent judgement. Individuals are expected to focus on client service and demonstrate openness to tackling a diverse range of issues. On the job training would be provided and the firm would support such individuals in identifying and securing any additional qualifications and training which might assist them in their role.

While responsibilities are allocated to the individual team member on a day to day basis, the individual will be part of a team and will fill in for colleagues (and vice versa) for holidays and other absences to ensure that all issues continue to be addressed without delay within the Risk & Compliance team.

Role And Responsibilities

Tasks include:

  • Managing the firm's Information Barriers and providing user support and guidance
  • Assist with coordination/management of AML and other risk & compliance training and procedures
  • Assist cyber security and compliance, including cyber training, phishing and other cyber testing
  • Help manage and coordinate the firm's insurance renewal and claims notification records and processes
  • Manage Risk & Compliance coms, including mailbox and Alice web page
  • Managing the firm's SLA/OCG Centralised Library Document creation and management
  • Managing the firm's Information Security Forum, certification and audit and management of the Firm's Business Continuity Plan and GDPR issues
  • Business Inception Support including Conflict checking, & Intapp Open queries & reporting
  • Helping to manage the Risk & Compliance team's regular and recurring responsibilities (training, insurance reporting and renewal, cyber testing), renewal of policies etc

Experience And Characteristics Required

  • Previous experience in a legal environment or commensurate experience;
  • Strong general administration skills with strong technological skills and experience
  • Proven ability to learn to use and effectively manage new technological tools the firm's key systems
  • This role requires significant levels of trust and an ability to keep matters confidential
