Responsible for: The development and delivery of Young Person Programme in MQI

Reports to: Deputy Head of Operations (Dublin)

ABOUT THIS ROLE

Be part of an exciting phase with the MQI team and take charge of developing a special program to assist young individuals facing various challenges.

In 2015, MQI introduced a Support Project for the Youth aimed at homeless or at-risk youths, focusing on education, motivation, coping skills, crisis intervention, legal matters, conflict resolution, accommodation, harm reduction, and drug education.

We offer a safe space for young people to express their views on drugs, enhance life skills, make better decisions, and improve overall well-being.

Main Responsibilities

1. Service Delivery:

-Lead the creation of new programs ensuring operational success of the youth program at MQI.

• Develop services strategically to meet evolving needs of young clients.


• Establish strong relationships with local agencies and ensure client access to services.


• Conduct client assessments, develop support plans, and maintain respectful relationships with clients.


• Engage clients in service development and incorporate their feedback.


• Provide high-quality service, address client concerns promptly, and identify client needs proactively.


• Organize group activities and training sessions based on client requirements.


• Support service by participating in on-call schedule.


• Lead service reviews, implement changes, and maintain records per policies.


• Establish and uphold practice standards aligning with MQI values.

2. Staffing:


• Provide supervision and support to staff.


• Ensure proper support for student placements and volunteers.


• Monitor staff performance and ensure high standards of service delivery.


• Assist in staff recruitment and training.


• Contribute to developing staffing structures and policies for quality service.

3. Reporting:


• Prepare regular reports and ad hoc information requests.

4. Teamwork:


• Collaborate with the team, communicate effectively, and support team goals.


• Foster a creative team environment and ensure high-quality work.


• Follow service policies, lead team meetings, and ensure policy compliance.

5. General Responsibilities:


• Stay updated on service quality standards and best practices.


• Develop role effectively in alignment with organizational goals.


• Maintain accurate records, attend meetings and events as needed.


• Adhere to organization policies and maintain professionalism.


• Adapt to organizational changes and support fundraising efforts when required.

Person Specification


• 3rd level qualification in Social Care or related field (required)


• 2 years' experience leading teams in community or addiction services (preferred)


• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and decision-making skills (required)


• Ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.


• Handle pressure and work effectively with clients' complex needs.


• Willingness to learn and adapt new practices.


• Ability to work independently.


•Excellent IT skills.

The salary scale: Starting at €42,505 per year.

Contract: Permanent

Working Pattern: 39 Hours per week, Monday-Sunday (within 8.00am – 8.00pm).

Location: Merchants Quay, Co.Dublin
