What is the opportunity?

The role offers the opportunity to work in an exciting and growing area within Bank of Ireland and the wider financial service sector. Operational Resilience is defined as the ability of a firm, and the financial services sector as a whole, to identify and prepare for, respond and adapt to, recover and learn from an operational disruption.

As a part of the Bank of Ireland Group Resilience and Continuity team the Senior Manager Operational Resilience Governance will contribute to a number of key deliverables which aim to enhance the banks overall Operational Resilience.

The role also offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure and experience of Operational Resilience while working with senior leaders across the bank.

In this Role, you will
  • Help to lead a team of Operational Resilience Subject Matter Experts
  • Provide the required direction needed to implement Operational Resilience activities into an agreed operating model.
  • Help to embed the Groups Operational Resilience strategy, ensuring the establishment of good governance where necessary.
  • Assist in helping set the standards and approach for Operational resilience including technical guidance
  • Assist in developing management reporting for Operational resilience including to executive and board level, including the Operational resilience Self assessment.
  • Assist in ensuring that the Groups Operational Resilience activities are compliant with all external regulatory and internal policy requirements.
  • Liaise with multiple senior stakeholder to influence and improve operational resilience for the Group
  • Provide Education and training for key stakeholders

What willmakeyoustandout?

Experience as an Operational Resilience specialist in a similar capacity, preferable in the financial sector, with a strong Governance background particularly with reporting, policy, methodologies and procedures will make you stand out

Experience in implementation of relevant Operational Resilience regulation and guidelines is a must.

Strong background of communication, both written and verbal to senior stakeholders with the ability to manage an extremely broad and diverse agenda.

The ability to analyse and report data to professional Board level standard and demonstrate the ability to write reports to Executive Board quality is essential.

Confident, articulate and independent minded approach with the ability to deal with both the 'big picture' and the finer detail will help you succeed in the role.

You are a strong people manager who is a confident communicator with the ability and experience to develop people and influence.

A proven track record of independently managing a team of colleagues to deliver on multiple activities will give you an advantage.

Our Group Resilience and Continuity team form part of the Payments and Business Continuity Management business function within the Group Technology and Customer Solutions division. We are the first line Centre of Excellence who with the support of the wider business in continually improving the Operational Resilience capability of the Bank of Ireland Group. Group Resilience and Continuity are responsible for developing and setting a comprehensive vision and approach for Operational Resilience, which are then delivered through comprehensive frameworks, policies, methodologies, management tools and the provision of sound advice.

This is a hybrid onsite role and can be done anywhere in the Republic of Ireland with the primary office location as ITC, Cabinteely, Dublin 18. Travel will be required for in-person collaboration - exact frequency to be agreed with manager. #LI-HYBRID #IJ-HYBRID
